"I recently completed an internship with Flora and Fern Co. and it was the best summer experience I could’ve asked for! One of the most valuable aspects of the internship was the hands-on experience I gained. With Megan’s guidance, I learned how to create everything from bridesmaid bouquets to big installations projects; and each day brought new challenges and opportunities to refine my skills. What truly sets this internship apart is the sense of community! Despite the fast-paced nature of the industry, everyone took the time to mentor and support one another. I felt like a valued member of the team, and my contributions were always appreciated! The internship provided insight into the business side of floristry. "Working with Flora + Fern over the summer was such an amazing experience! I didn't have too much exposure in the floral industry to begin with and this internship really helped me understand the ins and outs of business as well as the things you don't really see while working in the floral industry. Megan is such an amazing mentor and friend, and has truly taught me so much about what it's like to start your own business, how to network, and has taught me so many important elements of design. I loved the way she designed the internship and it really helped me to step out of my comfort zone. We learned what it's takes to run consultations, write up proposals, work with wholesalers, as well as work hands on at events and weddings. It was so much fun to see in the end all of these events come together so beautifully after all the hard work we had put into planning, designing, and building for them. If I could do this internship again I totally would, not only because I learned so much but because Megan creates such a positive environment and makes everything so much fun!"

The flora and fern internship was unforgettable and I left with zero regrets! Not only did it challenge me creatively, but also gave me confidence I didn’t have beforehand. I started with very little experience and left with the tools necessary to start my own floral business! Megan is a complete dream to work with and made be feel comfortable and calm even when things got busy. You truly get out what you put in, which showed me how important it is to be dedicated. "Flora and Fern’s internship is a perfect way to fast track you’re knowledge and experience in the floral industry! Whether you come into it with past experience or not, you are going to feel super confident in almost every area of the job. Personally, the biggest asset I feel like I’ve gained from the internship was watching Megan’s backend business process. This is something that is not always thought of, and can be hard to figure out on your own. From on-boarding clients, creating proposals, ordering product, and tracking finances, you are going to see almost every area behind the scenes. Megan is also super open and will help you with any questions you have. Don’t be afraid to bombard her lol. If you are seriously considering becoming a florist, this is the best way to get hands on experience in the field fast, have consistent practice, and exposure!"

"Doing an internship with Flora and Fern was a great experience! I got to gain experience in all aspects of what being a florist entails. I learned so much about floral design, installs and communicating with clients. I also learned so much about product and how the process works with wholesalers! I loved all of the people I was able to meet through this internship. I got to work alongside another intern, Maddy, and so many other talented florists who were freelancing. I learned a lot from Megan as I watched her design and as she answered my thousands of questions about all things floral. She is very talented and I’m grateful I got to learn so much from her. I feel that I definitely improved in my floral design as I helped create personals, bridesmaids’ bouquets and centerpieces. Before starting this internship, I had little idea how installs worked, so going to installs was so fun and beneficial for me. One of my biggest takeaways from this internship was being able to be a part of a destination wedding in Moab! It was great to see all of the planning and preparation that goes into that whole process! I would totally recommend doing an internship if you are wanting to further your experience and knowledge in the floral industry!"

"I did Flora and Fern’s internship last summer and it was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only is Megan very kind and knowledgable, she genuinely cares about her interns and wants them to succeed. She’s also just a good person to be around. I am now much more confident in my design skills because of her tutelage. I was able to gain enough knowledge and skill to open my own floral business shortly after completing the internship. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today, in my business or as a person without her. Through the internship I was also able to create relationships with other florists and make numerous connections in the floral industry which set my business up for quick success. Maddy is hilarious! She made the long build days, and summer heat way more bearable. She was my right hand all summer, and grew so much!! After the internship she was able to start her own business, and is doing so well!
